Makeup: NARS Virtual Domination Palette Review

makeup: NARS virtual domination palette review

The Limited edition NARS ‘Virtual Domination’ cheek palette  *Drool*

If you love makeup, palettes or NARS then this one could be for you. It literally took one glimpse at this palette to know it would become an addition to my makeup kit. Plus how gorgeous is the packaging a 3D white design which is over laid over the NARS logo, it looks like snowflakes or flowers (which is great as there’s nothing worse than something with snowflakes on in the middle of summer). It features three blushes, a hight lighter and a bronzer. So here’s a little review and swatches of this beautiful mini palette…..
makeup: NARS virtual domination palette review

Sex Fantasy – Is a cool toned lavender matte pink, It’s almost a cherry blossom shade – It’s completely matte, very subtle, sheer almost. On darker skin tones this would have to layered up quite a bit to show. Is it powdery due to the matte finish? ever so slightly.

Deep Throat – This is one of NARS popular permanent blush shades, its a warm peachy-pink with a slight shimmer. My favourite shade in the palette, it’s perfect for a dewey day or evening look. (I also dabbed this on top of my lipstick to custom match lips and cheeks)

Final Cut– This is a warm matte peachy coral shade, a really pretty colour for spring/summer especially if you don’t already own a peachy shade.

Miss Liberty – I really like this highlighter it apply’s beautifully, it’s a light golden champagne colour. You can slightly see the glitter flecks once applied but they are so finely milled that it’s not too obvious.

Laguna – I already own this bronzer (as its also part of NARS permanent range) but it was nice to have a full size pan with the blushers all in one palette, less to carry around in my bag. It’s described as a diffused powder with a gold shimmer. I think the colour in the pan can be quite off putting as it looks really dark but it actually applies quite sheer and can be layered up for more effect. Also the gold flecks are very finely milled so it gives a natural glow with out sparkle. This powder can also be used to contour.

I love this little versatile palette, the palette had good colour payoff, blendable textures, all shades picked up, layered and blended out lovely. Any drop in quality compared to the full sized versions was minimal.

I love how the addition of the highlighter and blush is so convenient and also having a few blush shades to choose from dependent on your mood. The packaging is compact but still big enough to have a large pan size for your bronzer which I think is essential and yet small enough it will fit easily into your bag or holiday makeup kit. It’s £45 an investment, but when the RRP of a single blush is £22.50 it’s really an absolute bargain (with spaceNK quoting the combined retail value at £117) So Yes I absolutely love this palette. NARS Virtual Domination Palette £45 (Swatches from left to right – Sex fantasy, Deep throat, Final cut, Laguna & Miss liberty)

Have you tried this palette, Do you Love or hate it ?
