Lifestyle: The Weekend Division

After a hectic week in the capital, I was looking forward to a weekend of fun event’s, food, friends and beauty-related catch up’s. Here’s a peek at my weekend division.

Saturday I headed out towards one of Londons most eclectic area’s Notting Hill for a brunch time gathering with friends at Nama – A truly virtuous place to eat. Nama offers a 100% raw menu, this place is super popular and you may quite likely have to wait for a table during busier times. It’s nestled in a leafy corner of Talbot street which offers the perfect spot to grab a bite whilst soaking up the weekends passing street styles.

My favourite dish is Ooosha’s Spiced Coconut Porridge which consist’s of mature coconut, dates, activated almonds, apple, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, hemp seeds, cacao nibs & blueberries – Although all the dishes at Nama look like a Michelin star work of art. It truly tastes even better than it looks.

My next stop was in the midst of Chelsea’s sleek tailored bustle just off the main street, it was something I was remarkably excited to attend despite its air of sensibility, being privy to the PR event of Dyson’s latest creation was to me – a brand super fan something of an honour. The V6 Total Clean has been on my tech radar since it’s release. A hand held, light weight, low noise, cordless, full power vacuum, It sounded like just the game changing gadget that could fulfil my brief of a spotless clean whilst saving time, our most precious commodity. My self and twenty six invited bloggers chatted with engineers about the humble beginnings of Dyson, about how one man’s dream took five years of determination and a crazy inspiring 5,127 prototypes until the first bagless vacuum was born.

We were then set the task of cleaning various rooms. Simplicity and innovation; the V6 Total Clean* didn’t disappoint. Expect: To be surprised it’s amazingly light, its weight balanced for floor to ceiling cleaning (you can balance it on one finger!), two suction power modes for more difficult tasks (it can suck up glitter and cereal in the same swipe) and of course – freedom – #NoCordsAttached! As the afternoon draws to a close the air hums with laughter and goodbyes and with delight I pondered that I’d genuinely had a lovely afternoon – cleaningIf you fancy taking the time and chore out of vacuuming check out the benefits of going cordless and more about the day over at Dyson Tech Talk

Sunday morning deserves a little more of the Italian pass time “dolce far niente” (the sweetness of doing nothing) so after a brief Sunday ‘laze’ consisting of a duvet bound Pinterest session and a quick flick through this month’s Vogue it was time swap the Saturday crowds in favour of something a little more relaxed and tropical, well as tropical as you can get in London with out a 12 hour plane flight. A wander around the iconic Kew Gardens palm house, it’s lush steamy interior fakes a far away decadent beach destination there’s a water fountain in the centre, so all you can hear is trickling, dancing water. The air is filled with the earthy scent of palms and fresh coconuts. I could happily live inside it. After a final stroll around the grounds observing the rhythm of the new season we made our way home as the sun started to set.

The weekend had passed in a flash leaving just enough time for a quick beauty catch up with Essie’s After School Boy Blazer on nails, preparing a pitch for some rather exciting TV freelance work, before draughting the weeks to-do list.

What do you have planned this wknd?
