The culmination of the ideal beauty & makeup routine can often be a process of testing and trialing many different products to ultimately find what suits you best. Beauty boxes simplify this pursuit by delivering a fresh line up of new and interesting products each month, Look Fantastic takes this one step further by not having any subscription contract’s so you’re free to choose boxes as you wish. So here’s the debrief on what this months bumper birthday beauty box contained – 8 products in total!
First out the box is the Codage Paris Scrubbing Cream (value around £18) This manual face scrub felt quite decadently rich, not harsh in any way yet it still provided smooth exfoliated skin after rinsing. The exfoliating medium within this product is organic rice particles which are both environment and skin friendly (many are not). This product also contains no parabens, phthalates, essential oils and is not tested on animals. It’s not a brand I’ve used previously but I would try again as it left leaving my skin looking brighter and fresher.
I was delighted to see the inclusion of the brand Caudalie which featured two complementary products from the same range, the Caudalie Vinosource SOS Thirst Quenching Serum which contains soothing organic grape water, plumping hyaluronic acid, and is packed with antioxidants (aprox value £14). This ultra light, fast-absorbing cream serum disappears completely into the skin leaving a smooth hydrated surface. The second part of the skin care duo is the Caudalie Vinosource Moisturizing Sorbet ( £5.75) which has an airated mouse like consistency instantly moisturizing and calming skin (due to the addition of Chamomile). This Caudalie combo definitely proved the perfect antidote for dehydrated skin.
Next in my box was the Phyto Phytokeratine Extreme 30ml (value £7.95) I’ve never found an effective leave-in conditioner that didn’t weigh down my hair (which is quite fine) so I was met completely by surprise when this divinely scented peony petal hair product delivered, not only did it leave my hair silky and apparently thermally protected it also gave texture and volume to my hair due to the feel of the product once dry. A minor miracle in my hair story. This product will definitely become a favorite in my haircare repertoire.
The Bliss Fabulous Foaming Face Wash 30ml (value £3.50) is a 2-in-1 cleanser and exfoliator which claims to gently remove dirt and makeup whilst exfoliating at the same time, unfortunately I personally prefer more skin nurturing, nourishing type facial cleansers thus avoiding foaming ones. It also contains a few ingredients I like to avoid. That said this is Bliss best-seller so a lot of people obviously adore it and it’s time-saving benefits. It’s also a lovely generous size bottle.
On to the MONU Tanworx Tan Maintainer 30ml (value aprox £ 2) I didn’t really didn’t have any remnants of a holiday tan left to try out this product but know from many a beauty therapy product that carrot oil is still undoubtedly one of the best natural tan intensifier’s and prolonger’s around combined with coconut oil this really is a moisturizing drink for the skin.
Finally a hair care duo from Sebastian, Sebastian Penetraitt Shampoo and Conditioner 50 ml (worth £2.50 each). I’m always on the look out for products that counter act dryness, protect and breathe life back into coloured locks. So although I haven’t tried this brand before it’s two I’m looking forward to testing.
It’s really quite an amazing Look Fantastic birthday box* with product’s valued at over £55.00 for only £15! It doesn’t have any makeup products this month but that didn’t bother me at all since there was some lovely skincare items and a new hair care discovery for me. This box also came with £40 worth of discount vouchers for various online stores.
