4 To Love From Shu Uemura

4 To Love From Shu Uemura

It’s all about Shu Uemura today, the innovative and quirky beauty brand that hails from Japan. Mr Shu Uemura established the Shu Uemura makeup institute in Tokyo in 1965 which ultimately forged the global brand we now recognise famed for it’s hi-tech formulas and trend-defying products.

Items from the brand that offer something more than the expected must obviously include the ever popular oil cleanser’s and divinely extravagant false lashes but it’s four of the less obvious ones I’m sharing today that any committed beauty lover may wish to own.

Shu Uemura’s range of 10 trouble-shooting foundation primers each target a variety of different skin and makeup issues offering corrective solutions or prolonging wear and it’s the Shu Uemura UV under base pore eraser I reach for when I want to make my makeup last. Why? It’s due to the under base mousse formula that provides a refreshing airy feather-light veil over the skin avoiding that feeling of a heavy build up of layers. It evens out skin discoloration, minimises the look of pores and prevents shine throughout the day. It’s not drying to the skin and contains no silicones. There are two shades of this formula light-mid/mid-dark beige plus two colour correcting shades ivory and pink all with an impressive 35 SPF.

Now let’s talk about the pressed eye shadows beloved by Karl Lagerfeld, there’s a few stunning Shu Uemura shades I just couldn’t live without, a universal medium brown bronze (shade 856) and a captivating golden glitter (shade 311) which adds the most delicate sparkle to any eye ensemble appropriate for both day and night.

Ending with the lash curler’s that transcend the boundaries of all other devices I’ve tried, these much-hyped lash curlers prove that not all curlers are made equal and whilst you should attempt to try eyelash curlers before purchasing as not all curlers fit all eye shapes for me these render elegantly rounded lashes not a L-shaped angled curl in sight. They fit snuggly around the eye without tugging or pulling away lashes and once curled remained in place well into the evening – even on mascara free days.

Have you tried any Shu Uemura products, let me know below?
